The gang I used to work with were absolute party animals! These bean made an appearance at a backyard picnic. It's a must-have for those of us who can appreciate the cheap and the easy! Ingredients:
2 pound can butter beans, drained |
1 pound lima beans, drained |
1 pound kidney beans, drained |
27 ounce can baked beans(your choice), undrained |
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled |
1 or 2 large onions, chopped |
1/4 cup white vinegar |
1 teaspoon mustard, preferably yellow |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon strips until crisp. 2. Remove from pan. 3. Reserve bacon drippings. 4. Crumble bacon strips. 5. Set aside. 6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 7. Saute onion, vinegar, mustard and garlic powder in drippings for 20 minutes. 8. Combine the resulting sauce with the beans in a 13x9x2 baking dish. 9. Add bacon. 10. Mx well. 11. Bake for 1 hour. 12. Can be combined in slow cooker on High for about 5 hours. |
