Another old one, good rich poundcake type. Ingredients:
1 c. butter or margarine |
8 5 cent hershey bars (good luck on this price!) melted over warm water or microwaved carefully |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1 c. buttermilk |
2 c. sugar |
4 eggs |
2 tsp vanilla |
1/4 tsp. soda (recipe says a 'pinch') |
1 c. chopped pecans, optional |
Directions:
1. Cream butter or margarine with sugar. Beat well. 2. Add one egg at a time, beating well after each. Add the melted Hershey bars. 3. Sift the flour, salt, and soda and add gradually to the other ingredients, alternately with the buttermilk. 4. Add vanilla, and mix well. 5. Bake in a greased, floured tube pan at 350 for 1 1/2 hrs or until tests done. |
