A little twist to classic potato soup! Goes great with homemade garlic butter drop biscuits or crackers!! A big hit at my house!! Ingredients:
4 to 6 medium to large potatoes |
1 small turkey ham or 1 pkg diced ham |
1 can milk |
1 small onion |
1/2 gallon milk |
1 tbsp. butter |
2 chicken bouillons |
1 cup shredded cheese (any you like) |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. dice potatoes and chop onion 2. place in large pot and add water just to cover 3. drop in 2 bouillons 4. add butter adn bring to a boil 5. dice turkey ham (if not using already diced ham) 6. when potatoes come to a boil, add ham 7. continue to boil until potatoes are done 8. add can milk, stirring 9. fill rest of pot with milk (may take more or less depending on pot size) 10. add salt and pepper to taste 11. let simmer until soup is hot, but not boiling 12. **sometimes I use 1 pint of whipping cream instead of can milk for a richer, creamier soup** |
