A lovely and tasty garnish for baked goods. Ingredients:
1/2 cup water |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon almond extract |
violets |
Directions:
1. Make a syrup by stirring water into sugar in small saucepan. 2. Boil till slightly thickened; stir in almond extract. 3. Let syrup cool a little. 4. Place the violets, a few at a time into syrup. Make sure that they are completely covered. 5. Remove from syrup and place on wax paper to dry. 6. Note: Do NOT use African violets! |
