I made this two days ago for thanksgiving and the result came out great,my husband just loves it! Ingredients:
2 lbs sweet yams |
1/4 cup butter |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
3 cups marshmallows |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 350F.peel the yams and cut them into about 2 inch chunks.in a medium sauce pan,bring enough water to a boil and cook the yams until they are tender,about 20 minutes. 2. drain the yams and mash them,add in cinnamon,salt,melted butter and sugar,mash them thoroughly. 3. transfer the mashed sweet yams to a casserole dish,evenly top with marshmallows,put it in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the marshmallows are lightly browned. |
