Time: About 30 minutes, plus cooling time. Slightly sticky, slightly spicy, and great with a holiday cocktail. Ingredients:
1/2 cup dark brown sugar |
1/4 cup maple syrup |
1 teaspoon chipotle chile powder |
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt |
2 cups assorted unsalted nuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300°. Mix sugar, maple syrup, chile powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add nuts and mix to coat well. Spread nuts on a nonstick baking sheet (or line sheet with parchment) in a single layer. 2. Bake nuts, stirring often, 20 to 30 minutes, or until liquid is mostly evaporated and nuts are golden inside (break 1 open to test). Let cool until crisp. 3. *Make ahead: Up to 1 week, stored in an airtight container at room temperature. 4. Note: Nutritional analysis is per 2-tbsp. serving. |
