My mom made these for me and I brought them to work to share, they were gone in 5 minutes - a huge hit. Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups pecans |
2 egg whites |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Brown pecans in open pan in oven at 325 degrees (just for a minute until brown). Take out and cool. Beat egg whites, salt and sugar until stiff peaks form. Add pecans to egg whites. In meantime, melt butter in large cake pan 9 x 13 inch. Spread pecan mixture over melted butter. Bake 325 degrees for 30 minutes Stir every 10 minutes until butter is absorbed. Cool on waxed paper. |
