A homestyle restaraunt called The Ingelnuk served these. They would come out with a big bowl of them and pile them on your plate. They sound odd, but are actually my favorite way to eat Lima Beans! Ingredients:
3 cups dried large lima beans |
1 tablespoon salt |
2 1/3 cups brown sugar |
4 tablespoons melted butter |
Directions:
1. Cover beans with cold water. 2. Soak for 4 hours, Drain. 3. Place beans in a 3/4 quart saucepan. 4. Cover with cold water. 5. Add salt. 6. Cook over medium heat for 1-1/4 hours, or until tender. 7. Remove from heat and drain. 8. Place drained beans in a mixing bowl. 9. Add brown sugar and butter stiring until well blended. 10. Put beans in a 9x13 pan. 11. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. |
