From Laura Karr's The Can Opener Gourmet - differs from other versions on 'zaar in greater use of storage foods, including evaporated milk Ingredients:
6 slices bread (gluten free) |
6 eggs |
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon onion powder |
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese |
1 (5 ounce) can ham, drained and diced |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or coat a 13x9 inch baking pan with nonstick spray. 2. Line the entire bottom of the pan with bread slices (I prefer to roughly cube the bread first rather than leave it in slices). 3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and spices. Add the cheese and stir again. Pour over the bread. Sprinkle diced ham bits evenly across the top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the eggs are set. |
