I have no idea if this is a good as it sounds but I would love to try it. I made it a bit easier, but you could do your own ice cream if you are so inclined. Ingredients:
1 lb flaky pastry dough |
1 lb fresh cameros cheese (fresh goat's milk) |
6 cooking apples |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup cream |
1/2 cup honey |
3 cups vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 300 degrees. 2. Finely chop the cheese and heat in a double saucepan with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup cream, stirring constantly until a smooth mixture forms. 3. Roll out the pastry and cut into 6 rectangles. Make a few holes in it with a fork. 4. Spread over the cheese mixture and arrange the sliced apple on top. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15 minutes. 5. In a small pan, heat 1/2 cup of water with the honey, stir until well-mixed and runny and let cool. 6. Serve topped pastries with a spoonful of ice cream topped honey sauce. |
