This is a favorite recipe of our middle daughter. It is a little bit time comsuming but worth the effort. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil |
1 onion |
1 garlic clove |
1/2 cup mushroom |
1/2 prosciutto ham |
1/2 cup salami |
2 tablespoons parsley |
1/2 teaspoon basil |
3/4 cup mozzarella cheese |
salt |
pepper |
1 egg yolk |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon water |
Directions:
1. First you need to make your favorite bread recipe or use frozen Rhodes rolls that have been thawed. Heat oil . Mince onion and garlic. Chop mushrooms. Saute onion, garlic and mushrooms. Chop prosciutto ham and salami. You could use other meats beside these but I would recommend using the salami. Add rest of ingredients and cook stirring being careful not to scorch cheese. Set aside. Roll dough into 5 inch circles and spoon 2 tablespoons filling onto dough and fold over sealing edges and using last 2 ingredients brushing with a wash of the egg and 1 tablespoon of water. Bake 375 degrees for 20 minutes. |
