A Trinidadiian dish full ..Recipe was shared with me but have not yet tried it. Thoought one of you would love the challenge Ingredients:
approximately 12 dasheen leaves or spinach leaves |
1/2 lb. salt beef or a ham bone |
1 tb butter |
1/4 lb salt pork |
2 cups boiling water |
1 green pepper |
2 crabs (optionl) |
8 ockras |
2 sprigs thyme |
1 onion |
4 chives |
Directions:
1. Strip the stalks and mid-rib from the dasheen leaves and wash well 2. Wash and chop okras and seasonings. 3. Soak and cut-up the meat 4. Parboil and clean the crabs 5. Put all the ingredients, except the butter into a pot with the boiling water and simmer until everything is soft. 6. Swizzle and add the butter. |
