This is my absolute favorite recipe from my childhood. My grandma used to make them for me. I don't make them very often because, although it is her recipe, they don't taste as good as I remember. Isn't that the way it always goes? Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
1 1/2 cups butter |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped |
1 1/2 cups apricot jam |
Directions:
1. Beat sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. 2. Stir in flour and nuts. 3. Spread half batter in grease 9 x 13 pan. 4. Spread jam evenly over batter. 5. Cover with remaining batter. 6. Bake at 325 for 45 - 50 minutes. 7. Cool slightly, cut into bars. |
