Bean stew with ground beef and bacon. It's quick and simple to throw together and - good for either the crock pot or the oven. Ingredients:
2 (16 ounce) cans butter beans, undrained |
2 (16 ounce) cans pork and beans, undained |
2 (16 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans, undrained |
1 cup ketchup |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1 tablespoon mustard |
2 teaspoons white vinegar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup diced onion (optional) |
1/2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled |
1 -2 lb ground beef, cooked |
Directions:
1. Empty cans of beans, undrained, into crock pot. 2. Add ketchup, mustard, onions, ground beef, crumbled bacon, and salt. 3. Stir together. 4. Simmer in crockpot on low setting for 4-5 hours or until bubbly, or baked in oven at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes. 5. May be served with sour cream. |
