From Vicory Cookbook - Nostalgic Food and Facts from 1940 - 1954 - the egg can be substituted with 1 level tablespoon of dried egg mixed with a tablespoon of water Ingredients:
1 egg |
2 ounces fat |
2 ounces sugar |
4 ounces flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
milk |
Directions:
1. Beat the egg. Cream fat and sugar, add egg and lastly the flour mixed with the baking powder. 2. Mix to a soft consistency with a little milk. 3. Spread in a tin and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. 4. This mixture can be steamed in a basin for 1 hour and served as a pudding with jam or custard sauce. |
