a very old recipe from sally grosserode she used to make alort of doughnuts on the farm i have several recipes for doughnuts these are made with buttermilk and you need to put them in frig Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 1/2 cups buttermilk |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
3 1/2 tablespoons shortening |
2 eggs |
4 cups flour |
Directions:
1. mix together 2. dough will be quite moist dont add more flour 3. refrigerate no time given here 4. drop by teaspoon in hot fat. |
