This recipe is from a set called Great American Recipes that I collected several years ago Ingredients:
4 pork chops, thick and boneless |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 bay leaf |
1 teaspoon paprika |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/2 cup chicken broth |
1/2 cup white wine |
3/4 cup sour cream |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, brown pork shops on both sides in a little of the butter. Sprinkle with salt and cayenne pepper. Remove from skillet and set aside. 2. Add remaining butter to skillet. Add chopped onion and garlic. Saute for a few minutes until soft, but not browned. 3. Add bay leaf, paprika, black pepper and thyme leaves. Stir to combine. Add chicken broth and wine. 4. Heat to simmer. 5. Return pork chops to skillet. Simmer, covered, over medium heat for about 20 minutes. 6. Remove chops. 7. Add sour cream to sauce in pan. Stir. Heat slowly, stirring. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 8. Pour sauce over pork. Service with steamed rice and broccoli. |
