Spicy, tasty, heart-warming. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1 medium onion, chopped |
2 quarts water |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained |
3 cups shredded cabbage |
3 cups potatoes, peeled & diced |
1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans, drained |
1 (15 ounce) can italian tomato soup |
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, undrained |
1 cup sliced carrot |
1 cup chopped green pepper |
1 cup chopped celery |
3 chicken bouillon cubes |
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley |
2 teaspoons cajun seasoning |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
1 bay leaf |
Directions:
1. In a large soup kettle, cook beef & onion over medium heat until beef is browned. 2. Drain. 3. Add remaining ingredients & bring to a boil. 4. Reduce heat & simmer, covered, for 1 hour, or until vegetables are tender. 5. Discard bay leaf before serving. |
