Another recipe of my Grandmas'. So simple to make. Serve with a side of fries and a veggie. Ingredients:
1 can of corned beef |
1 chopped onion |
1/2 cup of dry roux |
1/2 cup of water |
salt, pepper & creole seasoning to taste |
3 1/2 cups of water |
Directions:
1. Spray a heavy pot with non-stick spray 2. Saute chopped onion until they are clear 3. Add 1/2 cup of dry roux + 1/2 cup of water to make creamy roux 4. cook for about 5 mins 5. Break up corned beef and add to mixture 6. Add water and seasonings 7. Bring to a boil and simmer about 25 mins. 8. Serve over hot rice 9. Our favorite way to eat this is to put the gravy over the rice, top with french fries and put ketchup on top and mix it. It really sounds disgusting, but it's soooo good! |
