A rich, sticky sweet dessert that's terrific for potlucks or any occasion where you just want to bring something different and decadent . . . Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 eggs, slightly beaten |
1 cup evaporated milk |
2 cups flaked sweetened coconut |
2 cups chopped pecans |
1 cup drained, chopped maraschino cherries |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
2 sticks margarine |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, sugar, pineapple, soda and eggs and bake in 9x13-inch pan at 350 F until cake is done (test by toothpick). 2. When cake is almost done, combine evaporated milk, coconut, pecans, cherries, sugar and margarine and bring to a boil stirring constantly. 3. Pour mixture over hot cake. 4. Serve warm. |
