School recipe for scpecial meal Ingredients:
1 garlic clove |
20 ml red wine vinegar |
10 ml lemon juice |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
5 ml worcestershire sauce |
90 ml olive oil |
2 ml salt |
2 ml dry mustard or 5 ml dijon mustard |
1/4 head romaine lettuce |
125 ml croutons |
25 ml parmesan cheese |
1/2 green onion, chopped |
Directions:
1. Crush garlic with a fork against the sides of the salad bowl. 2. Remove from the bowl. 3. Prepare Romaine lettice, tearing into bite sized pieces. Assemble the, onions, crutons and Parmesan. 4. Pour the vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire, mustard and seasons into the salad bowl. 5. Pour the oil into the mixture, in a slow stream, whisking constantly. 6. Add the lettuce and onions to the dressing, topssing gently just until the lettuce is coated. Sprinkle over the cheese and croutons. Serve at once. |
