Who wants to bother boiling cabbage leaves and rolling up ground beef? Ouch! Those leaves are hot! This no-fuss recipe tastes just as good! Ingredients:
1 small head cabbage |
1 medium onion, chopped |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
salt & pepper (to taste) |
2 lbs extra lean ground beef (precook and drain higher fat content beef) |
28 ounces tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. Crumble uncooked lean ground beef in crock pot. 2. Mix in onion, garlic, salt and pepper. 3. Remove core from cabbage and cut into wedges. 4. Arrange cabbage over meat mixture. 5. Pour tomato sauce over cabbage. 6. Cook on low for 8-10 hours 7. Note: may be converted to 2-3 hour stovetop method in dutch oven but recommend precooking ground beef with onion and garlic. |
