Easy alternative to cabbage rolls. Ingredients:
1 lbs lean ground beef |
2 med onions, chopped |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 tsp salt |
1 dash pepper |
2 cups tomato sauce (large can) |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup rice |
4 cups shredded cabbage |
Directions:
1. Cook and stir meat until brown. 2. Add onion, garlic, salt and pepper. 3. Add tomato sauce, rice and water. 4. Simmer for 20 minutes. Rice will not be completely cooked. 5. Place 1/2 cabbage in greased casserole, top with 1/2 meat mixture. Repeat. 6. Bake at 350ยบ for 1 hour. With cover for first half an hour and then uncovered for second half hour. |
