I have had many variations of this dish, but this one by far is my favorite. Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 -2 head cabbage, cut into strips |
1 lb bacon (crumbled) |
1 large onion, diced |
1/2 cup salted butter |
1 (12 ounce) package kluski noodles or egg noodles |
salt & pepper |
Directions:
1. cut cabbage into wide strips. 2. melt 1 stick of butter in a large pot. 3. add onion and cook, about 5 minutes. 4. add cabbage and cook until reduced and tender. 5. while cabbage is cooking fry bacon until crisp. 6. add bacon to cabbage and onions, transfer with a slotted spoon (no need to drain) the grease will add extra flavor. 7. combine with cooked egg noodles. |
