CABBAGE BACON SLAW This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Dasher Estate in Arlington, Texas in 2007. Ingredients:
3 cups shredded cabbage |
2 stalks celery thinly sliced |
1 small cucumber pared seeded and finely chopped |
1/2 green pepper diced |
2 green onions sliced including tops |
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley |
8 strips bacon fried crisp and crumbled |
1/4 cup mayonnaise |
1/4 cup sour cream |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
dash paprika |
Directions:
1. Place cabbage into large mixing bowl then add celery, cucumber, green pepper and green onions. 2. Sprinkle with half the parsley and fold in bacon. 3. In separate bowl mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, salt, black pepper and paprika. 4. Fold into slaw mixture then serve immediately. |
