This is a nice cabbage dish sure to please all the cabbage lovers in your life. Enjoy Ingredients:
3 pounds cabbage |
4 white potatoes washed and diced with skin on |
2 onions chopped |
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar |
6 tablespoons butter |
1 tablespoon water or beer |
Directions:
1. Cut cabbage in half and soak in salted water for 15 minutes. 2. Agitate and drain well then shred. 3. Heat butter in a large heavy skillet then add diced potatoes. 4. Cook over medium heat until lightly browned. 5. Add 2 chopped onions and cook until transparent about 5 minutes. 6. Add cabbage and toss well with two wooden spoons. 7. When cabbage starts to wilt add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. 8. Add beer and vinegar then cover with lid slightly askew and simmer on low heat 45 minutes. |
