Byerlys Wild Rice Soup

Ingredients:
6 tbs butter
1 tbs minced onion
1/2 cup flour
3 cups chicken broth
2 cups cooked wild rice
1/3 cup minced ham
1/2 cup finely grated carrots
3t chopped slivered almonds
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup half & half
2 tbs dry sherry
Directions:
1. Melt butter in saucepan; saute onion until tender.
2. Blend in flour, gradually add broth.
3. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Stir in rice, ham, carrots, almonds and salt; simmer about 5 minutes, blend in half & half and sherry; heat to serving temperature
