Butterscotch Sauce For Ice Cream |

This homemade Butterscotch Sauce is so rich and flavorful. Incredible on vanilla bean ice cream. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar |
1/2 cup light corn syrup |
1/4 cup water |
1 tsp kosher salt |
3/4 cup heavy cream |
2 tablespoons scotch whiskey |
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt and cook to dissolve the sugar. 2. Add the cream and simmer stirring, until thickened, about 10 minutes. 3. Add the whiskey and vanilla, stand back as it bubbles up, and simmer over heat for 2 more minutes. 4. Let cool until foaming subsides and pour into jar. Cool and place in refrigerator where it keeps for 3 months. 5. Enjoy. |
