This is absolutely THE BEST butterscotch sauce I have EVER had, bought or homemade !
Ingredients:
! & 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. butter
2 c. cream (at 20% butter fat)
1 t. vanilla
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, syrup, butter, & half the cream in a saucepan . Cook over low heat, stirring, to soft ball stage (243 degrees) . Stir in remaining cream. Cook to a thick, stirring consistency & remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Serve hot or cold. Makes 2 cups.
