Another favorite holiday cookie that I make every year during the holiday season. Always popular at my cookie exchange. Enjoy Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter softened |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1-3/4 cup flour sifted |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
glaze |
1-1/2 cups confectioner's sugar |
1 egg white slightly beaten |
1 tablespoon butter melted |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, salt and butter thoroughly then add egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy. 2. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and cinnamon then add to mixture and chill overnight. 3. For glaze mix all ingredients together until smooth. 4. Roll dough out until it is 1/8 thick then cut into fancy shapes. 5. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 350. 6. Allow to cool then glaze. |
