This is a simple dessert to make when you have one of those nights you are in a hurry. It takes no time at all to get this together and in the refrigerator to cool. Ingredients:
3 cups milk (use part whole and part skim can milk) |
2 cups brown sugar |
3 egg yolks |
1 pinch salt |
3 tablespoons flour |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
skor english toffee bit |
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan combine milk and sugar over medium-high and heat, and heat . 2. In a small bowl, combine 3 egg yolks, salt and flour, and combine until smooth. Add to the heated milk. 3. Whisk over medium heat until until thickened. Remove from heat. Add a piece of butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla. 4. Pour into 2x 9-inch baked pie shells. This can also be used in a 9x13 pan with a graham wafer crust to make butterscotch squares. Sprinkle with Skor bit pieces. 5. Whipped cream is better than meringue for topping. |
