This one cooks in a doubler boiler. I can't tell you cook time. Ingredients:
1/2 c. flour |
2/3 c. light brown sugar firmly packed |
3 tbsp. butter |
1 1/2 c. milk |
3 egg yolks---well beaten |
1 tsp. vanilla |
note: save egg whites for meringue |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, brown sugar and butter and blend. 2. Add milk and cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. 3. Pour small amount of mixture over egg yolks stirring vigorously. 4. Return to double boiler and cook 10 minutes longer. 5. Cool, add vanilla. 6. Pour into prebaked pie shell. 7. Top with meringue and bake in slow oven 300 degrees for 12 minutes until lightly browned. |
