Butterscotch Krimpets Copycat of Tastykake Original |

These have to be my all time favorite snack when I can find them, but now they have been delivered into my hands! Thank you Lord! Recipe adapted from Todd Wilbur's version of Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets ( ) Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) box golden poundcake mix |
4 egg whites |
2/3 cup water |
1/8 cup nestlÉ® toll house® butterscotch flavored morsels |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Krimpets. 2. Preheat oven to 325ºF. 3. Beat egg whites till stiff. 4. Blend egg whites with cake mix and water. 5. Pour batter into a greased 9x12-inch baking pan. 6. Bake for 30 minutes, or till top is golden brown and toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 7. Cool. 8. Frosting. 9. Melt butterscotch morsels in microwave on high for 45 seconds, or use double boiler over hot water. 10. *Do not let water boil*. 11. Mix butter with butterscotch, then add powdered sugar. 12. Blend frosting with mixer till consistency is smooth. 13. Spread frosting atop cooled pound cake. 14. Cut cake into equal nine rows, then two cuts lengthwise. 15. Grab revolver and prepare to defend your krimpets. |
