I typed in butterscotch and the following picture to the left is what I came up with. Ingredients:
4. c. quick-cooking or old fashioned rolled oats |
1/2 to 1 c. wheat germ |
2 tbsps. sesame seed (statement from the writer of this recipe, the coconut, sesame seed and raisins are all optional additions, but good. nuts may also be added) |
1 tsp. cinnamon |
3/4 c. brown sugar (packed) |
1/4 c. honey |
1 c. coconut |
1/2 c. seedless raisins |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1/2 tsp. lecithin (optional) |
2/3 c. melted butter or margarine |
Directions:
1. Mix first 7 ingredients. 2. Mix brown sugar and honey with lecithin (if used) and melted margarine. 3. Add to the first mixture and mix until crumbly. 4. Place in shallow ungreased jelly-roll pan. 5. Do not pack down. 6. Toast in moderate oven (350) 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. 7. Cool 15 minutes, then toss with fork to form crumbs. 8. Store in covered jar in refrigerator; use as needed, as cereal or topping for ice cream, pudding, baked desserts. |
