Ingredients:
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 egg, beaten |
1 3/4 cups milk |
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
chopped peanuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, flour, and egg in top of a double boiler; add milk. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth. Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla. Stir until butter melts. 2. Spoon butterscotch mixture into individual dessert cups, and serve warm or chilled. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts, if desired. |
