Ingredients:
2 cup(s) brown sugar
1/2 cup(s) butter
1 cup(s) sour milk or buttermilk
1 egg
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
2 cup(s) flour
1/2 cup(s) nutmeats (optional)
Directions:
1. Mix brown sugar, butter and 1/2 cup of flower with fingers as for buscuits. Save 1/2 cup of this crumb mixture for topping.
2. To the remainder, add rest of ingredients. Put in greased and floured 8x10 pan. Cover with crumb mixture. Add nuts if you choose.
3. Bake at 375° for 1/2 hour or longer, until brown
