adapted from recipe in More-With-Less Cookbook Ingredients:
1/8 c. butter |
1/8 c. applesauce |
1 tbsp dark molasses |
1/4 c. sugar |
1/4 c. cocoa powder |
1/4 c. dark chocolate chips |
1 egg |
1 egg white |
2 tsp vanilla |
1/2 c. dry nonfat milk |
2 tbsp dry nonfat milk |
1/2 tsp baking powder |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 c. wheat germ |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Melt butter and mix with applesauce. 3. Add molasses, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs (beaten), and vanilla. Stir well. 4. Sift in dry nonfat milk, baking powder & salt. 5. Add wheat germ & chocolate chips. 6. Stir only enough to blend, using no more than 20 strokes. Spread in greased 8 x 8 pan. Bake 30 minutes. |
