Ingredients:
1 (3- to 3 1/2-pound) broiler-fryer, cut up |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground thyme |
1/2 teaspoon ground marjoram |
1/2 teaspoon paprika |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Place chicken in a shallow pan; pour buttermilk over chicken. Combine flour and seasonings in a plastic or paper bag; shake to mix. Place 2 or 3 pieces of chicken in bag; shake well. Repeat procedure with remaining chicken. 2. Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet to 350°; add chicken, and fry 20 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain well. |
