Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Ingredients:
1 (3- to 3 1/2-pound) broiler-fryer, cut up
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground marjoram
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon pepper
vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Place chicken in a shallow pan; pour buttermilk over chicken. Combine flour and seasonings in a plastic or paper bag; shake to mix. Place 2 or 3 pieces of chicken in bag; shake well. Repeat procedure with remaining chicken.
2. Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet to 350°; add chicken, and fry 20 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain well.
