Can use chocolate chips in place of the raisins. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
3 -4 tablespoons sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 cup cold butter |
1/2 cup golden raisins or 1/2 cup dried cranberries |
3/4 cup buttermilk |
2 large eggs |
Directions:
1. Set oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. 3. Cut in cold butter, until mixture has a consistancy of coarse meal. 4. Add raisins (or cranberries). 5. In another bowl, beat together buttermilk and eggs. 6. Stir in liquid ingredients into dry. 7. Stir together to form a smooth dough (don't overbeat). 8. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet. 9. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until golden. |
