A different cornbread Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
1 cup yellow cornmeal |
1/3 cup sugar |
1 tsp. salt |
1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1 tsp. salt |
1/2 tsp. baking soda |
1 1/2 cups buttemilk |
1/2 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
Directions:
1. PREHEAT OVEN 375 degrees 2. Grease a 8 1/2x4 1/2-inch loaf pan 3. Cobined all dry ingredinets cut in shortening with 2 knifes untill mixture resembles coarse crumbs 4. Whisk together buttermilk, eggs in small bowl make well in center of dry ingrediients Add buttermilk mixture stir well batter will be stiff spread evenly in pan {remove all air bubbles. Bake 50-55 minutes cool in pan remove from pan cool another 10 minutes serve warm |
