Ingredients:
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder |
2 teaspoon(s) baking soda |
1 cup(s) brown sugar |
1 cup(s) buttermilk |
3 eggs |
5 cup(s) flour |
1 cup(s) granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon(s) salt |
1 cup(s) shortning (butter flavor crisco) |
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla |
Directions:
1. In large mixing bowl, cream sugars & Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time. 2. Pour milk into measuring cup. Add baking soda & vanilla. 3. In smaller mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, & baking powder. 4. To creamed mixture, add 1 cup flour mixture and a little milk mixture. Keep adding until both are gone. Mix well. 5. Chill dough at least 4 hours. 6. Roll out and cut on floured surface. 7. Bake 400 degrees 5-6 minutes. Do not let brown. 8. Cool on racks. Ice as desired. |
