good on cake...an old recipe from my grandmother Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, softened |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 tablespoon light corn syrup |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in saucepan, mix well. 2. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. 3. Cook to 236* on candy thermometer. 4. Do not stir. 5. Pour over cake. |
