This is a recipe I purchased from the Griffith Estate in McKinney, Texas in 1987. Ingredients:
2-1/4 cups of sifted cake flour |
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup buttermilk |
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 eggs |
Directions:
1. Combine all dry ingredients together and sift three times. 2. Beat butter, buttermilk and vanilla 2 minutes then add eggs and beat 2 minutes more. 3. Pour batter into rectangular baking pan and bake at 350 for 40 minutes. |
