Fibre, anyone? This is very easy and good, too. Sometimes I lose track of the point and replace the raisins with chocolate chips. Ingredients:
2 cups wheat bran |
2 cups whole wheat flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup dark brown sugar |
1 cup raisins |
2 cups buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Mix together all the dry ingredients. 2. Stir in the buttermilk and let stand in a warm place for 1/2 hour before scraping into an oiled loaf pan. 3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. 4. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle. |
