I have a friend whose husband grows a huge garden each Spring. One year they had turnips coming out their ears and I was blessed with many shares . This was a delicious, simple way to use them without loosing their delicate flavor with a lot of other ingredients. Ingredients:
4 medium turnips |
1-block margarine |
satl and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Peel turnips and chop coarsely. 2. Cover with water and bring to a boil - lid on. 3. Add salt to taste. 4. Boil until tender - about 15 minutes. 5. Drain off water and add margarine cut into 6 pieces. 6. Put lid back on pot and let sit while margarine melts down in turnips. 7. Mix well and add pepper to taste. 8. That's it! 9. -Susana |
