This is one of my MIL's specialties . Three generations have grown up eating and LOVING this TREAT!! Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
5 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 1/2 cups buttermilk |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4-1/2 cup butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3 teaspoons sugar |
3 teaspoons cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Make dough with shortening, flour, baking powder, buttermilk, baking soda and salt. 2. Roll out as for a pie crust. 3. Mix butter, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon to make filling. 4. Spread filling over crust and fold crust in half. 5. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. 6. Bake 350* 25 minutes. |
