My grandmothers recipe. She had a German name for them but I could never say it let alone spell it. Ingredients:
6 cups toasted breadcrumbs |
3 eggs, beaten |
1 1/2 cups butter, melted |
2 cups milk |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons allspice |
Directions:
1. Place bread crumbs in a bowl. Mix together all other ingredients then pour over the bread crumbs and mix thoroughly. (Getting in there with your hands works best) Take some mixture and roll them in your hands making 1 - 1 1/2 balls. Drop in chicken broth and cook until they float to top. |
