Low fat recipe that uses light or fat free cream or yogurt. Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter |
1 cup chopped onions |
2 tsp garlic, minced |
1 tbs ginger root, grated |
1 tsp chili powder |
1/2 tsp turmeric |
1/2 tsp cinnamon |
19 ounces tomatoes, diced |
2 tbsp tomato paste |
1 tbsp brown sugar |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/4 tsp pepper |
692 grams chicken meat |
1/3 cup fat free half and half |
1/4 cup dairyland light sour cream |
1 tbsp cilantro |
Directions:
1. Melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and cook until tender. Add spices and cook 1 more minute. Add tomatoes, paste, brown sugar, salt and pepper. 2. Reduce heat to low, cover and heat for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Add chicken, cream, and sour cream. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add cilantro |
