From my Mom's Copper Kettle Cookbook. It is just a very good plain cake. Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter |
1 1/4 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
3/4 teaspoon vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon almond extract |
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour |
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add eggs and beat well. 3. Add extracts. 4. Add dry ingredients alternatly with milk starting and ending with dry ingredients. 5. Pour batter into 2 greased 8 pans. 6. Bake 350 for 30-35 minute. 7. Let cool 1o min before removing from pans. |
