Old time almond cookies. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 egg |
1/3 cup finely chopped blanched almonds |
1/2 cup white sugar |
1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 tablespoon ground cloves |
1/2 tablespoon ground nutmeg |
1/2 tablespoon lemon zest |
2 tablespoons brandy |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). 2. Cream the butter until light and fluffy. Add the well beaten egg, almonds, sugar, brandy, spices and flour. Mix until mixture is well combined. 3. On a lightly floured surface roll the mixture to 1/4 inch thick and cut with round cookie cutters dipped in flour. Place cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet. 4. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. |
